Fugaten spray – disinfectant for surfaces, objects and medical devices

Fugaten spray is a liquid, colorless disinfectant for commercial use, intended for disinfecting surfaces, objects, and medical devices. It is based on a high percentage of denatured ethanol (65–75%) and is suitable wherever rapid, alcohol-based disinfection is required. The product is not self-igniting, but is classified as a highly flammable liquid and should be handled with care. When used correctly, dermal and inhalation exposure are considered safe.

Application and handling

Spray Fugaten spray onto the surface or object to be disinfected from a sufficient distance, avoiding inhaling the spray mist. The application rate should not exceed 50 ml per square meter of floor space. Hot surfaces should be allowed to cool before disinfection. Wait until the alcoholic disinfectant has completely dried before using electrical devices on disinfected surfaces. Fugaten spray is not suitable for alcohol-sensitive materials such as acrylic glass, certain paints, or stains.

The main component of the mixture is denatured ethanol with a proportion of 65–75%.

Safety and storage

Fugaten spray is classified as a flammable liquid (Cat. 2, H225); the liquid and vapor are highly flammable. Keep the container tightly closed, in a cool, frost-free, well-ventilated, dry place, and out of reach of children. Keep the product away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources, and do not smoke while handling the product. The spray should be stored separately from food and beverages and protected from sunlight.

Warnings and First Aid

Fugaten spray causes serious eye irritation (H319). Avoid all contact with eyes and inhalation of the spray mist. When working with larger quantities or using frequently, protective gloves and goggles should be worn. In case of contact with eyes, rinse them with water for several minutes, remove contact lenses if easy to do, and continue rinsing; if irritation persists, seek medical advice. After skin contact, immediately remove contaminated clothing and rinse the skin with plenty of water. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, rinse the mouth with water and drink plenty of fluids; medical help should be sought immediately. If inhaled, ensure plenty of fresh air.

Environmental and disposal information

The mixture is classified as water hazard class 2 and should not enter sewers or waterways. Any remaining product must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations, e.g., via a suitable landfill or incineration plant; disposal via wastewater should be avoided. Empty plastic packaging can be recycled.
