Description:

S-Adenosylmethionine , discovered for the first time in 1952, is a molecule naturally synthesized in the body, from the amino acid methionine and adenosine triphosphate, in the presence of magnesium. The intake from the outside is important because it is found in small quantities in food.
SAM-e is found in all living cells, where it functions as a donor of methyl groups, involved in over 100 different reactions.
It acts in the body through 3 mechanisms: trans-methylation, trans-sulfuration and amonipropylation.
The body's need to synthesize SAMs increases under the action of external factors (eg stress), physiological factors (aging) or disruptive factors.
