Description
Folic acid belongs to the B complex vitamins and is responsible for various functions such as normal psychological functions, the reduction of high levels of homocysteine, and the synthesis of DNA and amino acids.
Folate 400μg provides folic acid in a patented, biologically active form, bioequivalent to the form found in nature. It is the most effective form of folate for individuals who are unable to endogenously metabolize folic acid due to a polymorphism in the MTHFR gene.
In addition, folate 400μg (as Metafolin) is essential for women of reproductive age as it helps prevent birth defects of the central nervous system or brain in the fetus.
