Carbodigest

Carbodigest is a dietary supplement containing a number of biologically active substances that regulate intestinal transit. One Carbodigest capsule contains an optimal blend of natural extracts of anise, fennel, essential oils of chamomile, mint and medicinal activated charcoal.

Carbodigest is effective in treating indigestion, relieving abdominal discomfort and severe abdominal cramps. The vegetable charcoal in Carbodigest absorbs intestinal gas, effectively reducing bloating (meteorism) and flatulence. Carbodigest regulates intestinal transit, preventing episodes of severe constipation.

Carbodigest contains an optimal dose of vegetable charcoal, which has the ability to absorb gas molecules in the intestine, reducing their volume and eliminating them through intestinal transit. The anise and fennel in Carbodigest contain essential oils with antiseptic and antibacterial effects in the intestine. Chamomile and peppermint essential oils also reduce the feeling of bloating associated with slow intestinal transit and relieve abdominal pain associated with irritable bowel syndrome or spastic constipation.

Carbodigest is a dietary supplement that is taken daily, 1-2 capsules 3 times a day with a large glass of water. The duration of treatment is indicated following a specialist consultation.

Pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding their newborns should consult their doctor or pharmacist for recommendations before taking any medicine or dietary supplement. 

Carbodigest should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the risk-benefit ratio has been assessed with your doctor.

 Carbodigest is contraindicated:

• People who are allergic to any of the active ingredients or components of this medicine
• People diagnosed with porphyria
• People diagnosed with chronic digestive tract disorders
• People with a history of intestinal obstructions, blockages or perforations

No interactions or adverse effects have been reported due to the concomitant consumption of alcoholic beverages and Carbodigest.

Like all medicines, Carbodigest can cause a number of side effects, although not everybody gets them. The most commonly reported side effects are: nausea, vomiting, worsening constipation, slightly darker or even black stools, severe abdominal pain, erythematous and pruritic skin rashes. If you experience any side effects, stop taking Carbodigest and consult your doctor.

On the recommendation of your doctor or pharmacist, you can take Carbodigest together with other medicines. Carbodigest may promote the faster elimination of certain medicines such as: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), sedatives, calcium channel blockers, dapsone, carbamazepine or methylxanthine.

Carbodigest contains activated medicinal charcoal as its main ingredient, a substance known for its beneficial intestinal properties. Activated charcoal neutralises substances that produce intestinal gas, as well as toxic substances, helping to eliminate them.
