Dronspot

Dronspot worming treatment for cats is available in 3 forms adapted to the cat's body weight to ensure accurate dosing:

• Dronspot small cats 30 mg/7.5 mg – Dronspot for small cats weighing between 0.5–2.5 kg, each pipette containing 0.35 ml of solution.
• Dronspot medium cats 60 mg/15 mg – Dronspot for medium cats weighing between 2.5–5 kg, each pipette containing 0.7 ml of solution.
• Dronspot for large cats 96 mg/24 mg – Dronspot for large cats weighing between 5–8 kg, each pipette containing 1.12 ml of solution.

The product is packaged in single-use pipettes, allowing for simple, safe application without the risk of underdosing.

Dron spot is indicated for the treatment and prevention of infestations with a wide range of intestinal parasites in cats. 

In the nematode (roundworm) category, the product acts against Toxocara cati in all stages of development – adult, immature, and larval (L4 and L3), against Toxascaris leonina in adult, immature, and larval forms, as well as against Ancylostoma tubaeforme, which includes both adult and larval forms. 

With regard to cestodes (flatworms), the product is effective against Dipylidium caninum in adult and immature forms, Taenia taeniaeformis in the adult stage, and Echinococcus multilocularis in the adult stage. 

Dronspot vermifuge is administered only by skin application, according to the instructions:

1. Remove the pipette from the packaging.
2. Hold it upright and remove the cap.
3. Use the end of the cap to break the seal.
4. Remove the fur from the back of the cat's neck, at the base of the skull, until the skin is visible.
5. Apply the contents of the pipette directly to the skin with firm pressure.

Generally, a single application is sufficient to eliminate parasites, but deworming should be repeated periodically as recommended by your veterinarian.

Do not use on kittens under 8 weeks of age or weighing less than 0.5 kg.

Dronspot is contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to the active substances or excipients.

Concomitant use with other products containing emodepsid or drugs with the same mechanism of action is not recommended.

Dronspot spot on worming treatment for cats can be used safely in the last part of gestation to prevent the transmission of Toxocara cati to kittens.

In the case of sick or weakened animals, administration should only be carried out after careful assessment of the animal's health by a veterinarian.

The product should be applied to intact skin, avoiding contact with the cat's eyes or mouth.

Adverse reactions are rare and generally mild: transient pruritus at the application site or localized erythema.

These manifestations are usually self-limiting and disappear without additional treatment.

Concomitant use with other anthelmintics containing emodepsid is not recommended.

Concomitant administration with drugs that act on the central nervous system should be evaluated by the veterinarian to avoid potential interactions.

The product has no food interactions, as it is applied exclusively to the skin.

Accidental overdose is rare, but may cause: 

• Tremors and ataxia
• Vomiting and gastrointestinal disorders
• Hypersalivation 

In these situations, treatment is symptomatic and supportive. For this reason, it is essential to follow the recommended doses and choose the pipette appropriate for the cat's weight.

The product should be stored at room temperature (below 25°C), away from light and moisture. Pipettes should be kept in their original packaging, out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
