Description Optifibre
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
OptiFibre Nestle is a product containing 100% soluble fibre of plant origin. OptiFibre Nestle is a food for special medical purposes with a prebiotic effect and is recommended for dietary management of patients with intestinal transit disorders.
OptiFibre is 100% plant-based, is very well tolerated by the body and can be used long-term without causing dependence.
How does OptiFibre work?
Dietary fibre is a carbohydrate that is not digested and is found in plant-based foods. Unlike other carbohydrates (such as sugar), fibre is not digested and is not absorbed into the digestive system, but acts locally (in the intestine), feeding the ‘good’ bacteria in the intestine and helping to regulate intestinal transit. Consuming soluble fibre is important for maintaining a healthy digestive system.
What are the benefits of OptiFibre?
- Provides a feeling of satiety;
- Slows down the absorption of carbohydrates;
- Balances the intestinal flora;
- Regulates cholesterol and blood sugar levels;
- Helps control body weight;
- A reduction in the risk of various chronic diseases has been observed with adequate fibre consumption.
Who is OptiFibre recommended for?
OptiFibre has a very wide range of applications. It can be consumed by adults, children over 3 years of age, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is also suitable for people with diabetes.
OptiFibre does not contain gluten, so it is also recommended for people with coeliac disease.
How should OptiFibre be taken?
It is recommended to gradually incorporate OptiFibre into your diet, especially if you do not currently consume a high-fibre diet, so that the transition is not sudden and your body does not suffer a shock.
It is recommended to start taking OptiFibre with one sachet per day (a measuring spoon is included in the box; one sachet of OptiFibre contains 5g of powder, which is equivalent to 4.3g of fibre). For children under 11 years of age, start taking OptiFibre with half a measure per day (2.5 g of OptiFibre Nestle powder). If necessary, increase the intake gradually, one scoop every 3 days, without exceeding the maximum recommended daily dose of 5 scoops per day (25g of OptiFibre Nestle powder).
Once bowel function has been regulated, do not increase the number of measures. The effect of fibre intake can be seen after 2-3 days of consumption. It is recommended to use OptiFibre for at least 3 weeks for a sustained effect. OptiFibre Nestle can be taken long term without adverse effects.
OptiFibre dissolves in both cold and hot liquids and soft foods (such as yoghurt or purées) without affecting their consistency or taste. It is not recommended to dissolve it in carbonated drinks. One 5g sachet of OptiFibre should be dissolved in approx. 200ml of liquid or approx. 150g of soft foods.
