Essential oils attack the waxy shell of nits, dissolving the glue that holds them to the hair and making them easier to remove. Myrtle essential oil has the property of repelling lice. Its repellent activity is immediate upon application and lasts over time.
Apricot kernel oil and petroleum jelly improve the detangling effect, protect the hair shaft and reduce the ability of nits to adhere to the hair.
