L-Tryptophan 250 mg Capsules

L-tryptophan, along with L-phenylalanine and L-tyrosine, belongs to the group of aromatic amino acids and is essential. Among the essential amino acids, L-tryptophan is consistently the least abundant in typical foods. Ham, beef steak, eggs, Parmesan cheese, almonds, and game contain higher amounts. Plant-based foods are generally low in L-tryptophan. This amino acid also has historical significance, as it was the first to be shown to directly influence the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin.
L-Tryptophan 250 mg capsules contain 250 mg of L-tryptophan in a hard gelatin capsule. L-Tryptophan powder contains 100 mg of L-tryptophan. L-tryptophan is the precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter in the brain. Only 3% of ordinary L-tryptophan is converted to serotonin in the body when ingested. Serotonin is responsible for inner peace, balance, and feelings of happiness. This hormone thus acts as a stress regulator. Furthermore, L-tryptophan is the key substance for the production of melatonin, which has a calming effect on brain activity and facilitates falling asleep and relaxation. In addition, this amino acid can be converted to niacin (vitamin B3) in the body under normal conditions and to a certain extent. Other amino acids compete with L-tryptophan for transport pathways across the blood-brain barrier. Therefore, it is advisable to take L-tryptophan in time isolation from other proteins.

Raw material description:
L-tryptophan is not of animal origin. The gelatin used in the hard gelatin capsules is BSE/TSE-tested pharmaceutical gelatin.
