Description
Manuka honey is characterized by its indigenous origin. Honey is only produced in a few areas of New Zealand, which are a natural refuge for rare shrubs of the genus Leptospermum scoparium. These honeys are additionally characterized by the following characteristics: appropriate range of specific conductivity, unique taste described as mineral, slightly bitter; a strong aromatic perfume with notes of wet earth and heather; the presence of pollen typical of Manuka shrubs and ingredients including: methylglyoxal (MGO).
