Description
Primrose root (Primulae radix) is a traditional herbal medicinal product in the form of an herbal infusion. It is used orally as an expectorant for coughs with retained sputum. The product's effectiveness is based on long-term use and experience.
Composition
100% primrose root (Primulae radix).
Dosage
Oral administration in the form of a decoction.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: Pour 1 cup (100 ml) of warm water over 1/2 teaspoon of the product (approx. 1.5 g), bring to a boil, simmer for 5 minutes, and strain. Take 1 tablespoon every 2-3 hours after a meal.
Indications
Traditionally used as an expectorant in case of cough with difficult expectoration of mucus.
Contraindications
Do not use the medicinal product in case of hypersensitivity to primrose or other plants of the primrose family or to any of the ingredients of the preparation.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. In rare cases, allergic reactions such as rash, hives, or difficulty breathing may occur.
Warnings and precautions
If symptoms worsen, shortness of breath, fever or purulent sputum occurs, consult a doctor.
Do not use for more than 1 week without medical advice.
Store below 25°C, out of reach of children. Protect from light and moisture.
