Carbocit

Carbocit is a dietary supplement recommended for digestive disorders such as bloating or flatulence. The activated charcoal in Carbocit preparations has a negative electrical charge, which allows it to bind to positively charged molecules (such as gases and toxins), thus relieving abdominal discomfort.

Types of Carbocit activated charcoal preparations

Carbocit duo is a preparation with a concentration of 250 mg of activated charcoal. Calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate molecules combine with hydrochloric acid in gastric juice to form calcium and magnesium salts, which are naturally eliminated from the body. In addition, calcium carbonate contributes to the proper functioning of digestive enzymes.

Carbocit acidosorb has a concentration of 40 mg of activated charcoal and essential oils (orange, juniper, basil, thyme, mint), and the preparation is also useful for patients with gastric hyperacidity and gastroesophageal reflux. In these cases, if symptoms do not improve within 7 days of treatment, a specialist gastroenterologist should be consulted.

Carbocit Aloe Vera contains 200 mg of activated charcoal and 50 mg of Aloe Vera, a combination that can be useful in regulating intestinal transit, reducing indigestion and abdominal bloating.

Carbocit acidosorb is administered 3-4 tablets per day after the main meal or as needed in adults. For children over 6 years of age, 1-2 tablets per day after meals are recommended.

When following a Carbocit treatment, it is recommended not to exceed a period of 7 days of continuous administration.

Activated charcoal binds to toxins in the body, but these are not absorbed by the body, which is why no systemic side effects are reported for Carbocit. However, treatment with activated charcoal is not recommended in cases of surgery, gastrointestinal bleeding or intestinal obstruction.

Because Carbocit activated charcoal has a porous surface that allows substances to penetrate and bind to it, it is recommended that Carbocit be taken in such a way as to allow complete absorption of other medicines and active substances. To achieve this, a period of 2 hours before and after taking Carbocit is recommended.

Carbocit is not recommended for patients who have recently undergone surgery, in cases of intestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction or ingestion of corrosive substances.
