Daosin

Approximately 2-3% of the general population suffers from histamine intolerance, which is unfortunately underdiagnosed. These patients receive symptomatic treatment, which does not resolve the cause but only provides temporary relief of symptoms.

Histamine is a chemical messenger belonging to the group of biogenic amines. It is normally found in many foods. The normal intake of histamine through food is not a problem as long as it is rapidly metabolised by the DiAminOxidase (DAO) present in the body.

Histamine intolerance occurs as a result of the body's inability to synthesise DAO, resulting in a build-up of histamine in the body, which subsequently causes specific symptoms.

Daosin has been specially developed for patients with DAO deficiency. The amount of DAO found in Daosin supplements the amount of enzyme produced by the body and ensures the metabolism of histamine. Treatment with Daosin capsules before meals increases the amount of DAO in the small intestine and improves the body's ability to break down histamine. In this way, Daosin facilitates histamine metabolism in the small intestine and restores the natural balance between histamine and DAO.

1 Daosin capsule contains purified protein extract from pig kidney equivalent to 4.2 mg DAO and excipients.

Daosin is administered to adults, 1-2 capsules 15-20 minutes before meals with sufficient liquid.

This product can be administered to children from 5 years of age.

Daosin degrades excess histamine brought into the body through food.

It allows patients with DAO deficiency to have a normal diet, preventing the onset of unwanted symptoms (skin rashes, eczema, hives, abdominal bloating, flatulence, diarrhoea or constipation, migraine, headache, rhinitis, respiratory symptoms).

Daosin does not contain any potentially allergenic substances. No adverse reactions, side effects or toxic effects have been reported.

DiAminooxidase is an enzyme in our body that is responsible for metabolising histamine. Histamine is a vital molecule that is produced by the human body, but is also found in many foods. This molecule acts as a mediator in many physiological processes. On the other hand, when foods contain it, they must be metabolised by the DAO enzyme. When histamine is not broken down properly, various problems can arise because it accumulates in the plasma. This happens when the DAO enzyme has reduced activity.

Both products contain DAO, Daosin contains purified protein extract from pig kidneys, and DAOfood contains diamine oxidase (DAO) with 22,000 HDU (Histamine Digesting Units) of DAO activity. This form is structurally and functionally closest to 100% pure human DAO, which the body can synthesise on its own.

Daosin comes in capsule form, while DAOfood comes in gastroresistant tablets and capsules.
