Lacrisifi
Description Lacrisifi
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Lacrisifi is a sterile ophthalmic solution containing hypromellose, a polymer with viscoelastic and moisturising properties that lubricates and protects the surface of the eye. Thanks to its protective and moisturising qualities, Lacrisifi provides long-lasting comfort, soothing and lubrication, reducing irritation associated with dryness and environmental factors such as wind, salt water, smoke or working at a computer.
What are the indications for Lacrisifi?
The product is recommended for dry eye syndrome, whether or not associated with Sjogren's syndrome.
This product is considered an artificial tear that relieves the burning and irritation associated with dry eyes.
Lacrisifi is indicated as an adjuvant in "sicca" syndromes, both those of endogenous origin (alteration of the tear film caused by a deficiency or excess of mucopolysaccharides) and those of exogenous origin (environmental factors, contact lens wearers). It is also recommended in cases of eye irritation caused by smog, wind, dust, sea water; it facilitates the removal of toxic substances and foreign bodies.
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose has emollient and lubricating properties, and its viscosity allows for prolonged corneal contact time of the eye drops. Lacrisifi has a refractive index comparable to that of tear fluid, improves stability, regenerates and reproduces the visual characteristics of the tear film. Lacrisifi ensures lubrication and hydration of the cornea and has a mild antiseptic effect.
What are the contraindications for Lacrisifi?
Lacrisifi should not be administered to people who are hypersensitive to any of the components of the solution.
How is Lacrisifi administered?
Instill 1-2 drops 4-8 times a day.
It should not be used more than 30 days after first opening the bottle.
It is not recommended to wear contact lenses during instillation of the product and they should not be inserted earlier than 15 minutes after instillation.
Allow 10-15 minutes before administering other ophthalmic solutions.
Break the seal before first use, remove the cap and open the bottle. Instil 1-2 drops into each eye by gently squeezing the bottle.
As the bottle is opened, it may be necessary to apply more pressure to administer the solution. This is due to the properties of the closure system, which acts to preserve the sterility and chemical and physical properties of the preservative-free solution.
Close the bottle after use; the contents should be used within 3 months of first opening. The product is suitable for frequent use, even several times a day (3, 4 or even more times if necessary) or as directed by your doctor.
What are the side effects of Lacrisifi?
After administration, due to the viscosity of the solution, a slight temporary blurring of vision may rarely be observed; therefore, it is recommended to wait until the blurring disappears before performing any activity that requires clear vision.
