Description Saccharomyces
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
The dietary supplement Saccharomyces Boulardii is a synbiotic for protecting and restoring intestinal microflora, which supports the balancing of transit changes.
What properties does Saccharomyces have?
The product contains beneficial Saccharomyces Boulardii yeast and added patented soluble fibre.
It is sold in the form of vegetable capsules, which can also be taken in vegetarian/vegan diets.
What are the benefits of Saccharomyces?
This product contains MOS (Manan-Oligosaccharides - soluble fibre), extracted from the cell walls of S. cerevisiae, which enhances the action of the beneficial yeast Saccharomyces Boulardii on the body.
Saccharomyces reduces the proliferation of aggressive microorganisms and their adhesion to epithelial cells, regulates the acid-base balance, reduces toxin accumulation, accelerates the breakdown of ingested food, making it more easily assimilated, and reduces the level of endotoxins, which trigger immune reactions.
The product contributes to the balance and restoration of the intestinal microbial flora affected by antibiotics, reducing the manifestations and recurrence of aggressive microorganisms in the digestive tract, maintaining oral health by reducing microorganisms at this level, regulating intestinal transit in constipation, diarrhoea, digestive allergic reactions and reducing their manifestations (bloating, colic, flatulence, halitosis of digestive origin), stimulating the enzymes of the epithelial cells in the digestive tract, decreasing the permeability of the intestinal mucosa to endogenous toxins by stimulating the production of short-chain fatty acids (the main source of energy for epithelial cells in the colon mucosa) and mucin and by reducing the production of immunoglobulin E (IgE), which contributes to increased histamine levels
It also helps maintain the integrity of the intestinal mucosa and reduce ulceration, regulate the action of pro-inflammatory cytokines secreted by intestinal epithelial cells, and modulate specific and non-specific immunity: it reduces endotoxins that trigger immune reactions, stimulates the production of white blood cells in the lymphoid tissue associated with the intestine, which is part of the immune system (GALT), and helps maintain the protective action on the intestinal mucosa by stimulating the secretion of immunoglobulin A (IgA).
How should Saccharomyces be administered?
It is recommended to take 1 capsule 1-2 times/day with meals or on an empty stomach with 200ml of water or as recommended by a specialist consultant.
The capsules are stable at temperatures between 18-22°C.
What are the contraindications for Saccharomyces?
Saccharomyces should not be used by people with a weakened immune system unless recommended by a doctor.
What are the indications for Saccharomyces?
Saccharomyces Boulardii Mos Jarrow Formulas can be used on the recommendation of a doctor for medical conditions such as: abdominal bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhoea, dysbiosis, abdominal colic, gastroenteritis, constipation, indigestion (dyspepsia) and low immunity.
Can Saccharomyces be taken together with antibiotics?
Saccharomyces boulardii is a natural yeast and is therefore resistant to the action of antibiotics. For this reason, yeast-based probiotics can be taken at the same time as antibiotics without the need for a waiting period.
