Septosol

Septosol is a potent antiseptic frequently used to relieve symptoms associated with respiratory infections (relieves sore throat, inflammation of the laryngeal and pharyngeal mucosa) and helps improve the immune system. With the help of its ingredients based on methylene blue, lemon and echinacea, it can also improve breathing.

Adults should take one orodispersible tablet 2-3 times a day for a maximum of three to five days.

Children over six years of age should take one tablet twice a day for three days.

Septosol tablets are orodispersible, meaning they dissolve in contact with saliva. They have a pleasant, slightly sweet taste. It is recommended to leave the tablets in the mouth until they are completely dissolved.

Septosol is available in pharmacies in boxes of 20 orodispersible tablets. Septosol tablets with methylene blue or Septosol with honey and lemon are manufactured by Herbaflu.

Septosol tablets have a double layer in order to compress as many active ingredients as possible and make them more effective.

Septosol contains per tablet: 5 mg of Echinacea purpurea extract, 3 mg of zinc oxide, 0.5 mg of methylene blue, 1.4 mg of eucalyptus essential oil, 1.2 mg of lemon essential oil, 0.15 mg of cultivated thyme essential oil, 0.05 mg of juniper essential oil, ginger essential oil and 0.045 mg of basil oil.

The use of high doses of Septosol may be associated with mild abdominal discomfort and diarrhoea due to the active ingredients that have a laxative effect. These symptoms subside easily when Septosol is discontinued.

Septosol is contraindicated in people who are allergic to methylene blue or any of the ingredients. Septosol should not be administered to children under six years of age, during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

As there is insufficient data to confirm the safety of Septosol during pregnancy, this supplement should only be used on the advice of a doctor. It is not known whether Septosol is excreted in breast milk, so caution is advised during breastfeeding.

Septosol Honey and Lemon contains methylene blue, an antiseptic, vitamin C and dry elderflower extract, which work together to help restore the body during acute respiratory infections. Essential oils and honey also give it a pleasant taste. Septosol honey and lemon tablets can be administered to both adults and children over four years of age.

Both Decasept and Septosol are dietary supplements that help maintain respiratory tract health during acute infections. In addition to methylene blue (an antiseptic also used in Septosol tablets), Decasept contains B vitamins (B1 and B6) and essential oils of lemon, eucalyptus, thyme and cedar. B vitamins help reduce fatigue and exhaustion associated with convalescence.

Decasept tablets are orodispersible (they dissolve in the mouth) and can be taken after main meals.
