Sforsin

Sforsin is available as a throat spray, in a 20 ml bottle fitted with a fine atomiser, designed to distribute the solution evenly over the oropharyngeal mucosa. 

This form of administration allows for rapid, localised and precise application, ensuring the formation of an effective protective layer.

Sforsin is recommended in the following situations:

• Reduction or elimination of snoring in adults.
• Improvement of sleep quality in people whose snoring is associated with a dry throat or excessive vibration of the soft tissues.
• Supporting upper airway patency, facilitating the passage of air to the nasopharynx.
• Relief of oropharyngeal discomfort by moisturising the mucosa and reducing irritation associated with turbulent airflow.

It is important to note that Sforsin does not cure sleep apnoea and is not a substitute for medical assessment in cases where snoring is associated with daytime sleepiness, breathing pauses or persistent tiredness.

Administration should take place before going to bed, as follows:

• Shake the bottle and hold it upright.
• Press the pump 3–4 times, directing the spray towards the back of the throat.
• After application, do not consume any liquids for at least 1 hour to prevent dilution or removal of the film.

The effect lasts for up to 8 hours, covering the entire sleep period.

Sforsin must not be administered in the following situations:

• Known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s ingredients (e.g. glycerine, polysorbate 80, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate).
• Serious throat conditions requiring medical assessment (acute infections, severe tonsillitis, persistent pain).

The product is not intended for children, unless otherwise indicated by a doctor.

Ensure that the solution covers the entire oropharyngeal mucosa, forming a uniform protective layer.

Regular use is essential for effectiveness; the first few applications may not produce a visible effect.

Sforsin is generally well tolerated, but the following may occur:

• A slight burning or tingling sensation immediately after application.
• A temporary reflex cough due to contact with the back of the throat.
• Rare allergic reactions (oedema, itching, erythema) in patients sensitive to preservatives or excipients.

Any persistent or severe reaction requires discontinuation of treatment and consultation with a doctor.

There is no evidence of significant interactions with orally administered medicines. However, it is recommended that the spray be administered at least 1 hour after eating or drinking.

Consuming alcohol before going to bed may increase the intensity of snoring and reduce the product’s effectiveness.

Concomitant use with other oropharyngeal sprays should be undertaken with caution to avoid overlapping films or irritating interactions.

The risk of overdose is minimal due to local administration. Excessive application may cause:

• a sensation of discomfort in the throat,
• increased swallowing reflex,
• local irritation.

In such cases, it is recommended to discontinue use and, if symptoms persist, to consult a doctor.

It is recommended to store the product at room temperature, away from heat sources and direct light, to maintain its stability. Furthermore, the spray must not be frozen and the bottle must be kept tightly closed and stored upright to prevent leakage or damage to the spray mechanism. 

As with any product intended for external use, it must always be kept out of the reach of children.
