Synoquin

Synoquin VetPlus is available as oral tablets, formulated according to the animal’s species and size. The products are available in packs containing, as a rule, 30 or 60 units.

The main commercial variants include:

• Synoquin Small Breed, for small dogs;
• Synoquin Medium Breed, for dogs of medium weight;
• Synoquin Large Breed, for large dogs;
• Synoquin Cat, specially formulated for cats;
• Synoquin Growth, intended for growing dogs from 3 months of age.

Synoquin EFA VetPlus is recommended for the management and prevention of joint disorders in dogs and cats. Its administration may be indicated in the following situations:

• osteoarthritis and degenerative processes of the articular cartilage;
• trauma or osteoarticular injuries;
• post-surgical recovery following joint surgery;
• the growth phase in dogs, when joint structures are subjected to intense metabolic stress;
• maintenance of mobility in older animals.

The dosage of Synoquin for cats and dogs depends on the animal’s body weight and the stage of treatment. 

• For dogs weighing less than 10 kg, administer 2 units per day for 6 weeks, followed by 1 unit per day. 
• For dogs weighing 10–25 kg, 3 units per day are recommended in the initial treatment programme, followed by 1 unit per day for maintenance.
• For dogs weighing 25–40 kg, administer 3 units per day, and for those over 40 kg, 4 units per day are recommended initially, followed by 2 units per day during the maintenance phase. 
• Synoquin Growth is administered to growing dogs at a dose of 2 units per day.

Synoquin is intended exclusively for veterinary use and must not be administered to species other than those indicated by the manufacturer. Furthermore, its use should be avoided in animals with known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s components.

Administration in doses other than those recommended should only be carried out on the advice of a veterinary surgeon.

Synoquin units can be administered directly to the animal or mixed into the feed, which facilitates administration to less cooperative animals.

The product may be used long-term as part of a comprehensive joint health management programme, which may include an appropriate diet, weight control and moderate exercise.

Synoquin is generally well tolerated by dogs and cats. 

In isolated cases, mild digestive disturbances such as diarrhoea or gastrointestinal discomfort may occur, particularly at the start of treatment. If symptoms persist, it is recommended to consult a vet.

Synoquin can be administered concurrently with most veterinary treatments used in the management of joint conditions, including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or physiotherapy.

There are no known significant interactions with food or other nutritional supplements; however, administration alongside other chondroprotective products should be assessed by a vet to avoid overdose of certain nutrients.

Occasional exceeding of the recommended doses is unlikely to cause serious effects. However, excessive administration may cause transient digestive disturbances, such as diarrhoea or loss of appetite.

If an overdose is suspected or a large quantity of the product is accidentally ingested, it is recommended that you consult your vet.

Synoquin should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.

The product must be kept in its original packaging and stored out of reach of children and animals to prevent accidental ingestion.
