Description
Excilor treatment solution for nail mycosis, 3.3 ml, Magna Pharm
For the treatment of fungal nail infection enriched with glycerol, nail care lipids and biotin
- Excilor® immediately reduces the pH of the nail, creating a hostile environment for the development of fungi. However, the affected nail takes time to grow.
- The effectiveness of Excilor® has been proven in clinical studies.
- Excilor® is enriched with glycerol, lipids that care for the nail and biotin. The nail plate has a structure that can be compared to a brick wall, with the nail cells serving as the "bricks" and the lipids between them as the "cement". aging has a significant influence on this structure of the nail plate and over time the nails become drier and contain less lipids. This increases the risk of infections.
- Excilor® is enriched with glycerol, a molecule that attracts water. It also contains special lipids that protect the nail and biotin. This combination softens, moisturizes and nourishes the nail plate.
What is a fungal nail infection?
Fungal nail infection (also known as onychomycosis) refers to fungal (dermatophyte) infection of the toenails or fingernails. The infection usually starts at the edge of the nail, which turns yellowish-white, brown or green. The fungus grows under or in the nail, causing the nail plate to thicken and crumble. Sometimes the nail comes off partially or completely, which can be painful. In some cases, the nail will come off the finger entirely.
How does fungal nail infection occur?
The nails – most commonly the toenails – are infected by fungi due to excessive moisture, heat, sweat or poor hygiene. Normally, the nail plate is too thick for the fungus to penetrate. However, damaged nails can easily become infected. Shoes too
tight and/or sweaty feet create conditions for fungus to grow and spread. Yeast infections are contagious and can be spread to other people (for example, by using shared showers). Self-contamination is also possible: the infection can spread from one nail to another. Some people (diabetics, patients using corticosteroids, patients with compromised immune systems) are more prone to fungal infections. It is important to treat the fungal nail infection as soon as possible: the smaller the affected area, the shorter the treatment period. Prompt treatment can prevent the infection from spreading to other nails.
How does Excilor® treat fungal nail infection?
Excilor® is indicated for the treatment of nail mycosis.
Effective treatment*
Immediate penetration**
1 minute a day – no need for a file
Results from 2nd week of use***
The effectiveness of Excilor® has been proven in clinical studies.
*In vivo and in vitro tests.
**Penetrates the nail in 33 seconds, in vivo experiment. Data on file.
***Visible results after the healthy nail grows back.
The most important component of nails is keratin, which most antifungal preparations cannot penetrate. In most cases, the fungus grows under the nail, which makes it difficult to treat.
Instructions for use :
Clean the nail and if it is covered with nail polish remove the nail polish completely before using Excilor®.
Use the applicator to cover the entire nail and the underside of the nail edge. Be sure to apply Excilor® in a generous layer. Allow the nail to dry (30-40 seconds) before putting on socks and/or shoes. Thus, the product can penetrate the nail. After application, it is normal to feel a tingling sensation under the nail; this shows that the product has completely penetrated the nail. Apply to the infected area twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening). For best results, treat the infected area for at least three months. It is advisable to continue the treatment until the nail has completely recovered.
To support better treatment compliance, Excilor® is available in two forms:
- applicator pen: approximately 400 applications
- solution: 3.3 ml
