Description
InVag is a medicinal product containing lactic acid bacteria that restore the vaginal pH balance for use in microflora disorders caused by, among other things, the use of antibiotics or hormonal changes.
Composition
The active substance is: live lactic acid bacteria:
25% Lactobacillus fermentum 57A,
25% Lactobacillus plantarum 57B,
50% Lactobacillus gasseri 57C, in an amount of not less than 109 CFU* per capsule.
*CFU - Colony Forming Unit - colony forming unit.
Excipients: skimmed milk powder, sucrose, sodium L-glutamate, mannitol, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate; capsule ingredients : gelatin, titanium dioxide.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist.
- A drug for vaginal use.
Take 1 capsule at night for one week. Place the capsule deep into the vagina.
Action
InVag contains lactic acid bacteria that restore or supplement the vaginal flora and pH balance. These bacteria have the ability to colonize the vaginal epithelium.
Indications
The drug is used to supplement or restore the vaginal bacterial flora, including in:
- as part of the prophylaxis against infections of the urogenital system (during and after treatment with antibiotics, antibacterial, antitrichomonal, antifungal drugs) and in the postpartum period and menopause,
- as a preventive measure, if there is a possibility of disturbing the bacterial flora, e.g. improper hygiene habits, contraception,
- inflammation of the vagina (vaginal infections) as supportive treatment, during and after treatment with antibiotics, other antibacterial and antifungal drugs.
Contraindications
When not to use InVag:
- in case of hypersensitivity (allergy) to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Common side effects (affects 1 to 10 people in 100):
- vaginal discharge, itching, burning,
- pain in the lower abdomen,
- spotting,
- swelling, redness of the labia,
- redness on the cervix,
- frequent urination, urge to urinate,
- cold,
- headache.
Warnings and precautions
- Caution should be exercised in case of serious immune disorders - consult your doctor before using the drug.
- The medicine should be stored in a refrigerator (2-8 o C).
- Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Use of other medications
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, have recently taken or might take, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
InVag may interact with:
- sulfamethoxazole,
- spermicides containing nonoxynol-9,
- penicillin, ampicillin, gentamicin, clindamycin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline.
Vitamin B-complex and estrogens (in vaginal administration) have a positive effect on the multiplication of Lactobacillus bacteria.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents
The drug should not be used in children due to lack of safety data.
