Calcium alginate dressing - highly absorbent, soft and drapeable, yet structurally stable and removable in one piece

3M Tegaderm Alginate is a highly absorbent dressing or tamponade made of sterile calcium alginate fibers. It is used as a primary wound dressing for moderately to heavily exuding, coated, or deep ulcers. The alginate forms a gel-like layer with the wound exudate, trapping germs and cellular debris and promoting autolytic wound cleansing.

Indications:
- Suitable for absorption and support of autolytic debridement in moderately to heavily exuding, deep wounds: leg ulcers of various origins, e.g., venous, arterial, mixed / pressure ulcers / diabetic foot syndrome / split-thickness skin graft donor sites / lacerations and abrasions / postoperative wounds / traumatic wounds / wound cavities
- Wearing time up to 7 days

Contraindications:
on tendons, ligaments and bones

Application:
Apply the dressing to the wound surface or insert it into deep wounds. 3M Tegaderm Alginate can also be cut to the required size. Cover the dressing with a secondary dressing.

Remove 3M Tegaderm Alginate as needed or after a maximum of 7 days. It can be removed in one piece. Any remaining fibers can be flushed out of the wound or easily absorbed by the body.
