Tulsi (sacred basil, Indian basil) is a plant recognized for its therapeutic virtues, used since ancient times in Ayurvedic medicine. It is rich in vitamins, flavonoids, anthocyanides and phenolic acids.
In cosmetics, it is appreciated for its antiseptic, detoxifying, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and purifying properties, finding its place in applications and treatments for a wide spectrum of skin or capillary ailments and problems.

Properties:
- antibacterial, purifying, detoxifying;
- anti-dandruff;
- anti-inflammatory, antioxidant;
- toning and revitalizing;
- soothing in case of itching and irritation.

Applications, recommendations:
- greasy hair, irritated scalp, dandruff;
- skin rashes, eczema, itching;
- hives, insect bites;
- mixed or oily skin, heavy skin, acne;
- mature skin, lacking tone and vitality;
- skin with imperfections, problematic;
- hair hygiene;
- maintaining dental hygiene.

Method of use - cosmetics:
- in the form of a skin mask, mix with warm water or floral water to form a paste that is left to act on the skin for approx. 10 minutes, then rinse;
- in the form of a hair mask, mix with warm water in the right amount to form a soft paste that is applied to the hair and scalp, massage a little, let it act for approx. 20 minutes after which it is rinsed with plenty of warm water;
- half a teaspoon mixed in the portion of shampoo for a hair wash;
- included as such, together with other specific ingredients, in a gum formula;
- together with the toothpaste, a knife tip over the portion for brushing the teeth;
- prepared as a 10% aqueous maceration for 24 hours or as a 15-minute infusion; it can be used as such on the skin/scalp in the form of a lotion or it can be included in the aqueous phase of an emulsion/cream, in a cleanser or shampoo (the maceration must be used immediately or it must be preserved and kept in the refrigerator);
- prepared as a 10% oily maceration for 24-48 hours, which can be used as such in the form of a facial serum, body/hair oil or as an ingredient in the oily phase of an emulsion.
