Shepherd's Purse

Menstruation – due to the plant's anti-bleeding properties, Shepherd's Purse can be used to treat heavy bleeding during menstruation; some women also use the plant to reduce the pain caused by menstrual cramps, but there are currently no studies to support this beneficial effect of the plant.

Postpartum haemorrhage – a 2017 study showed the plant's effectiveness in reducing postpartum bleeding; however, more studies are needed in this area to establish the effective dosage for new mothers.

Inflammation and infections – Shepherd's purse contains sulforaphane, a natural compound found in many cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and cabbage, which has been linked to health benefits, including improved heart health and digestion. Studies have also shown that sulforaphane can help control inflammation and may be effective against various bacteria that are resistant to multiple drugs.

Minor wounds, stings and burns – thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, as well as its coagulant properties, Shepherd's Purse can be used to effectively treat various minor wounds.

Do not exceed the maximum dose indicated on the product leaflet or recommended by your pharmacist/doctor. When taken in high doses, Traista Ciobanului may cause palpitations.

Consumption in its raw state can lead to a rapid increase in white blood cells.

Traista Ciobanului should never be taken together with sedatives.

Traista Ciobanului should not be consumed at least 2 weeks before any surgery, as it has known effects on blood clotting.

Categories of people who should avoid consuming Shepherd's Purse:

• pregnant women (Shepherd's Purse stimulates uterine contractions and may cause miscarriage) and breastfeeding women;
• people undergoing treatment with blood-thinning medication, or those with a history of heart attack;
• people with high blood pressure;
• people with thyroid disorders;
• people with heart disease.

Before taking Traista Ciobanului, it is recommended that you consult a doctor to determine whether it is safe for you to take Traista Ciobanului, as well as the dosage.

Although Traista Ciobanului is a medicinal plant, there is a possibility that, following its use, regardless of the form of the product, adverse reactions may occur, most often manifested as an allergic reaction. Symptoms of an allergic reaction to Traista Ciobanului include:

• breathing difficulties;
• pain in the throat and chest area;
• hives, skin irritation;
• fatigue and drowsiness;
• impaired intestinal transit (diarrhoea);
• changes in blood pressure;
• changes in the thyroid gland;
• changes in pulse.

If you notice any reaction after taking the product, stop taking it and consult your doctor.
