Stearic acid (M - 1418), 100 g, Mayam
A vegetable product used in cosmetics for the preparation of vegetable butters, to increase the viscosity and stability of emulsions, balms or solid tampons and to increase the hardness of candles or soaps.
Stearic acid is found naturally in various vegetable oils and butters.
Quality:
Stearic acid of plant origin, cosmetic quality, obtained from RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) palm oil.
Ingredients (INCI):
Stearic acid.
Properties:
- consistency and stability factor;
- increases the viscosity and hardness of preparations;
- emollient, protector;
- nutritious, filmogenic;
- gives viscosity and unctuousness to oils;
- co-emulsifier, stabilizer for emulsions.
Recommendations:
- the preparation of rich creams and body butters, especially for dry skin;
- the preparation of ointments, balms, solid deodorants and stick-type products;
- enriching the texture and unctuousness of creams;
- manufacturing scented candles and massage candles;
- preparation of CP soaps;
- as an ingredient for stabilizing emulsions.
How to use:
- indicative dosage: 2 - 7% in emulsions and creams, 5 - 30% in balms, deodorants and butters, 5-15% in soaps and solid tampons, up to 20% in candles;
- in emulsions, it is added to the fat phase;
- it is soluble in oils, when hot, it melts at a temperature of approx. 60°C;
- with the help of stearic acid, a body butter can be prepared from a fluid vegetable oil, without the need for hydrogenation, for example: macadamia butter, apricot butter, argan butter, avocado butter;
- compared to the Stabila co-emulsifier (cetyl alcohol), it forms a less greasy texture.
