Thyme is a perennial shrub known and appreciated since antiquity, being used in medicine by the Greeks, Egyptians and Romans. It grows up to a height of 45 cm, has a woody root, a stem with many branches, small elliptic grey-green and aromatic leaves, with pale purple or white flowers.

Thyme essential oil is potent antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal, useful in skin applications in case of mycoses, dermatoses or various problems of an infectious nature. It stimulates the immune system, is invigorating for the nervous system, and very helpful for the respiratory system.

By steam distillation of the aerial parts of the plant
