The Allevyn Heel wound dressing was developed with the aim of providing an anatomical and comfortable fit to improve the care of wounds on the heel.

High exudate uptake:
In vitro studies and clinical experience show that Allevyn wound dressings can remain on the wound for up to seven days as wound healing progresses. This performance is based on the combination of the following properties:

• The perforated wound contact layer also allows viscous exudate to be absorbed into the dressing.
• The hydrocellular core of the dressing absorbs and retains fluids within its microstructure.
• The breathable outer surface of the bandage allows excess water vapor to pass through to the outside.

The result is the creation of a wound environment that enables progressive wound healing without the need for frequent dressing changes.

Promotes early wound healing:
Allevyn Heel enables the creation and maintenance of a moist wound environment on the wound surface, thus preventing the formation of scabs and promoting rapid and trouble-free wound healing.

Perfectly fitting heel support:
The Allevyn Heel wound dressing was developed with the aim of gently and precisely covering the back of the foot in such a way as to create a moist wound environment.

Protective padding:
Allevyn Heel wound dressings are soft and form a cushion that offers the patient comfortable wear and excellent protection.

Clean wound healing:
Allevyn Heel absorbs and retains exudate, bacteria, and cell debris, thus ensuring cleanliness during dressing changes.

Areas of application:
The Allevyn Heel dressing is ideally suited for use on granulating wounds of the heel or corresponding anatomical contours. On necrotic or fibrin-covered wounds, it can be used in conjunction with the IntraSite Gel hydrogel dressing.

Contraindications/Restrictions on Use:
Allevyn dressings must not be used with oxidizing substances such as hypochlorite solutions (e.g., Eusol) or hydrogen peroxide, as these can destroy the absorbent polyurethane component of the dressings. Rare cases of skin redness at the wound edges following the application of Allevyn dressings have been reported. In some cases, this is related to irritation of sensitive skin. In other cases, wound exudate remaining in prolonged contact with the skin at the wound edges may be the cause. Rare cases of hypersensitivity to the dressing have also been reported. If redness or sensitization of the skin occurs, use should be discontinued and medical personnel consulted.

Instructions for use:
Step 1:
Place the white, patterned side on the heel.

Step 2:
Secure with a light bandage.

Step 3:
In the early stages of treatment, Allevyn Heel dressings should be checked frequently. The dressings can remain on the wound until exudate is visible and approaches the edge of the dressing. The outer film prevents fluid leakage and helps prevent bacterial contamination of the wound.
