* A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 33 healthy/clinically healthy men compared the efficacy of this proprietary whey protein and leucine product to an isocaloric carbohydrate mixture ﹘ placebo, consumed before and after resistance training. Subjects who consumed the whey protein + leucine supplement showed increases in muscle strength, unlike the placebo group. Whey+leucine supplementation also increased muscle fiber cross-sectional area from baseline.
