Milax-M ® glycerol suppositories are a medical device intended for use in children with constipation as a means of facilitating defecation. Suppositories with glycerol have a local irritating effect, loosen the stool, increase its sliding and stimulate intestinal peristalsis, facilitating the passage of the stool . They can be used ad hoc as an alternative to a traditional enema.
How do Milax-M ® suppositories for children work?
Each Milax-M ® suppository contains 1,500 mg of glycerol - an osmotically active substance responsible for the laxative effect. Glycerol suppositories are generally well tolerated when inserted into the anus.
