Postericare hemorrhoid stick 1 pc
Description
POSTERICARE® Hemorrhoid Stick for use in cases of prolapsed hemorrhoids
The POSTERICARE® hemorrhoid stick is used to reposition the hemorrhoidal cushions that protrude from the anal canal (also: prolapsed, falling out) back into their original physiological position in the anal canal.
The stick holds the hemorrhoids in their natural position during use. This can relieve symptoms such as itching, burning, or leakage. The pressure of the stick on the hemorrhoids can help stop minor bleeding from the hemorrhoidal cushions. In the case of prolapsed external hemorrhoids, it also ensures better drainage of accumulated fluid, thus promoting the regression of enlarged hemorrhoidal cushions and reducing the risk of the disease progressing.
The hemorrhoid stick is applied gently and carefully. If needed, it can be used in combination with an ointment (e.g., Posterisan® protect ointment for the anal area). The stick should remain in the anal canal for 10-20 minutes, but no longer than 60 minutes. It should be used after every bowel movement and can be repeated several times a day. Thanks to its ergonomic shape, the stick is prevented from slipping out or into the anal canal as much as possible.
- Physically effective – for prolapsed, enlarged hemorrhoids.
- It helps directly during application.
- Developed in collaboration with proctologists
- No restrictions when wearing: sitting, lying down, and movement are all possible.
Application
How is the POSTERICARE® hemorrhoid stick used?
- 1. Timing: specifically after bowel movements, as needed in everyday life.
- 2. Preparation: Clean hands and, if applicable, the stick. Apply ointment if needed.
- 3. Positioning: find a relaxed position for insertion.
- 4. Insertion: Using the hemorrhoid stick, carefully push the prolapsed hemorrhoids into the anal canal.
- 5. Wearing time: 10-20 minutes, max. 1 hour.
- 6. Removal: Carefully remove using the retrieval handle.
- 7. Cleaning: Clean thoroughly with water, disinfect if necessary and allow to dry.
- 8. Storage: Store in a clean place.
Application sequence:
Timing: Since hemorrhoidal cushions typically protrude from the anal canal during bowel movements and then need to be pushed back in, the hemorrhoid stick should always be used after a bowel movement. Additional applications can be made throughout the day as desired to prevent the hemorrhoids from protruding further and to enhance the positive effects of the repositioned hemorrhoidal cushions.
Preparation: Clean POSTERICARE® hemorrhoid stick with warm water before the first use and after each subsequent use.
Tip: If insertion is uncomfortable due to particularly irritated hemorrhoids, the hemorrhoid stick can be thinly coated with Posterisan® protect protective and care ointment before use. Posterisan® protect was specially developed for the anal area and can increase the stick's lubrication. However, too much ointment should not be used, as this could increase the risk of the stick slipping out or at least the sensation of it slipping out. Alternatively, in cases of severe itching or painful burning, a numbing ointment for the anal area (for example, Posterisan® akut rectal ointment) can be applied either approximately 15 minutes before using the hemorrhoid stick (this facilitates insertion) or applied thinly to the stick and used together (this enhances the symptom-relieving effect).
Positioning: To insert, get into a suitable relaxed position, e.g. a side-lying or standing position with one leg bent or raised, or a squatting position (also possible on the toilet).
Insertion: By inserting the hemorrhoid stick, the prolapsed hemorrhoids are gently pushed back into the anal canal. It is important to ensure that the stopper at the end of the stick is positioned in the cleft of the buttocks. This ensures that the stick is inserted deeply enough, but not too deeply.
Wearing time: After insertion, normal daily activities can be resumed. The stick should remain in the anal canal for at least 10 minutes and a maximum of one hour.
Removal: After the wearing period, the stick is carefully removed from the anal canal using the retrieval handle – without pulling the hemorrhoidal cushions out again.
Cleaning: After each use, clean the stick with warm water. Disinfection is not necessary, but can be done with an alcohol-based disinfectant wipe if desired. Please do not use any other household cleaners or other cleaning or disinfecting agents, as these may damage the product.
Storage: The stick should be stored in a clean place and readily available for use between applications (e.g. in the bathroom).
