Description
VETERINARY SCREENING TEST
ScreenVet Coronavirus
Rapid coronavirus test for cats (feces)
DescriptionSandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of feline coronavirus antigen (FCoV Ag) in feline feces.
It is based on the sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. When the sample is applied to the sample well on the cassette, the liquid flows laterally onto the surface of the test strip.
If sufficient Feline Coronavirus antigen is present in the sample, a visible T line will appear. The C line should always appear after application of a sample, indicating a valid result. This allows the kit to accurately indicate the presence of Feline Coronavirus antigen in the sample.
How to use
Allow the test cassette, specimen, swab, and/or controls to reach room temperature (15-30°C) before testing.
Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and use it as soon as possible. Best results are obtained if the test is performed within one hour.
Collect the cat's feces with the swab. Insert the fecal swab into the extraction tube provided with the kit. Shake to ensure sufficient sample extraction.
Place the test cassette on a clean, flat surface. Hold the pipette vertically and transfer 3 drops of extracted sample (approximately 120 mcL) into the sample well (S) of the test cassette, then start the timer.
Read the result after 10 minutes. Do not interpret results after 15 minutes.
Interpretation of results
POSITIVE: Both the control line (C) and the test line (T) appear. The result is considered positive regardless of the color intensity of the test line (T).
NEGATIVE: Only the control line (C) appears.
INVALID: The control line (C) does not appear. Regardless of whether the test line (T) is present or not, the result is considered invalid.
warnings
Do not use after the expiration date.
Handle all specimens as if they contained infectious agents. Observe established microbiological precautions during testing and follow standard procedures for proper specimen disposal.
Wear disposable gloves and safety glasses during testing.
Humidity and temperature can negatively affect the results.
Do not remove the test cassette from its packaging until you are ready to use it.
Do not reuse the test kit.
Do not mix components from different batches and different products.
The test is intended for in vitro veterinary diagnostic use only. All results should be considered in conjunction with other clinical information available from your veterinarian. For an accurate result, a PCR test is recommended for final determination.
