Application method:
Step 1: Detoxify the hair

Before applying the plant-based hair color, take the time to use a detoxifying cleansing treatment to remove product residue and impurities, and to help the color adhere better.
The Serge d'Estel Detoxifying & Volumizing Cleansing Treatment is ideal for removing impurities and product residue from hair.

Step 2: Preparation

In a (non-metallic) bowl, place 100g of vegetable coloring and pour in 300ml of water previously heated in a kettle to obtain a smooth and pliable paste.
For indigo, the water must be heated to 50°C to avoid breaking its effect.

Step 3: Application

Allow to cool and use a colourist's brush to apply the product to the roots of your hair.
You make successive partings on the top of the head and apply strand by strand.
The sections can be more or less wide.

Next, you have the choice between applying the color all over your hair right away or leaving it on the roots.

Step 4: Exposure time

Leave on for the desired intensity.
These highlights vary depending on the processing time and the natural color of the hair.
Then spread it over all of your hair.

During the exposure time, it is best to stay close to a heat source.
Wear a heated cap or wrap your hair in protective film during the processing time.

Step 5: Rinsing

Once the application time is complete, rinse with lukewarm water to remove the product from the hair.
The highlights do not necessarily appear obviously on wet hair, but gradually as it dries.
Plant-based hair coloring helps to highlight the shine and quality of the hair.

Step 6: Maintaining its plant-based color

Choose a shampoo with an acidic pH to smooth the hair cuticles and optimize the retention of the color.

Advice :
Don't forget to wear gloves.
Do not use metal utensils for the preparation and application of the plant-based hair color.
Perform a patch test 48 hours before applying behind the ear.
Apply protective cream around the face and ears.
Do not wash your hair immediately after coloring. Wait 48 to 72 hours before the next shampoo.
