Antimicrobial HydroBalance wound dressing

Suprasorb X + PHMB is an antimicrobial wound dressing effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens, such as MRSA and VRE*. In vitro studies demonstrate a very rapid and almost complete release of polihexanide (PHMB) from the dressing within 24 hours. Depending on the wound condition, Suprasorb X + PHMB releases moisture to the wound or absorbs excess exudate. This creates a moist wound environment, which patients find comfortable and pain-relieving. The material of Suprasorb X + PHMB allows for easy adaptation to any wound shape and depth, making it particularly suitable for hard-to-reach areas.

Areas of application:
For the treatment of wounds at risk of infection or infected wounds, whether low to moderately exuding and superficial or deep. Suitable for use on any wound bed (necrotic, coated, granulating, epithelializing).

Intended purpose:
Antimicrobial HydroBalance biocellulose wound dressings/tampons support wound healing by providing moisture and absorbing exudate from slightly to moderately exuding, superficial or deep, infection-prone or infected wounds and inhibiting microbial activity.

Indications:

• arterial and venous ulcers
• diabetic ulcers
• Pressure sores
• superficial second-degree burns
• postoperative surgical wounds
• Skin grafts
• Split-thickness skin graft donor sites
• Abrasions, lacerations

Characteristics:

Notes:
When treating infected wounds, the wound dressing should not be used as the sole therapeutic measure, but should be supplemented by drug therapy in accordance with local clinical protocols at the discretion of the treating physician.

Please contact a doctor or nurse if you experience any of the following symptoms:

• Change in the color and/or smell of the wound.
• Stagnant wound healing.
• Clinical signs of infection.

Tip:
If the dressing dries out, it must be adequately rehydrated with an exposure time of at least 10 minutes before removal.

Product composition:
Water, cellulose, 0.3% polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB/polihexanide).
