In a study conducted on 75 pediatric patients with recurrent upper respiratory tract diseases, the effectiveness of nebulizations with sodium hyaluronate, a humectant obtained by the reaction between hyaluronic acid and sodium, was evaluated.
Administered in combination with a saline solution, the nebulizer has been shown to be capable of inducing improvements in the various clinical parameters considered, compared to treatment with saline alone.
IBSA's proposal for the use of hyaluronic acid by aerosolization inside the nasal cavities is represented by Yabro, a medical device containing a sterile isotonic solution of 0.3% hyaluronic acid salt.
Periodic nebulizations with hyaluronic acid facilitate the removal of allergens and the restoration of mucociliary clearance, essential for respiratory health, especially in the postoperative phase of endonasal procedures.
