Corsodyl chlorhexidine is available as mouthwash, a colorless, clear or slightly opalescent solution with a pleasant minty odor. This pharmaceutical form facilitates topical application and ensures effective contact with the oral mucosa.

Corsodyl dental gel 1% chlorhexidine digluconate is also available as Corsodyl dental gel , which is used both for intensive treatment and for the prevention of the first signs of gum disease.

Corsodyl Mint Mouthwash is recommended for:

• Inhibiting plaque formation
• Treatment and prophylaxis of gingivitis
• Maintaining oral hygiene in special situations such as post oral surgery or in physically or mentally handicapped patients
• Accelerating gingival healing after periodontal treatments
• Management of aphthous ulcers and oral candidiasis
• Treatment of denture stomatitis

Corsodyl Dental Gel is an intensive treatment formulated to treat and prevent gum problems such as red, swollen or bleeding gums. It is clinically proven to help stop the first stage of gum disease, gingivitis.

For adults and children over 12 years of age, it is recommended to rinse the oral cavity for 1 minute with 10 ml solution twice daily.

Use toothpaste at least 5 minutes before applying Corsodyl Mint Mouthwash or at different times of the day.

The duration of treatment depends on the condition being treated:

• Corsodyl for sore gums: use for 1 month.
• Corsodyl for mouth ulcers and oral thrush: treatment continues 48 hours after clinical resolution.
• Corsodyl for denture stomatitis: the denture is kept in mouthwash for 15 minutes twice a day.

Corsodyl Mint Mouthwash is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine or any of the components of the product.

Due to the presence of sorbitol in the composition of Corsodyl, patients with rare hereditary conditions of fructose intolerance should not use this medicine.

Do not apply Corsodyl in the eyes or ears. In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.

The product is intended exclusively for use in the oral cavity.

There is no evidence of risk to the fetus or mother from the use of Corsodyl mouthwash during pregnancy or lactation.

Reported side effects include:

• Temporary taste disturbances
• Burning or tingling sensations in the tongue
• Allergic reactions or irritation of the oral mucosa
• Discoloration of teeth or surfaces of dental restorations, which may be professionally removed
• Skin reactions caused by macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate.

In case of persistent adverse reactions, a doctor should be consulted.

Corsodyl Mint Mouthwash is incompatible with anionic agents in regular toothpastes. To avoid interactions, it is recommended to rinse the mouth with water before use or use the products at different times.

There are no significant data on interactions with other drugs or foods, but caution in use is advised.

No cases of overdose have been reported. In case of accidental ingestion, chlorhexidine used orally is absorbed to a small extent. Systemic involvement is unlikely, even with ingestion of a large volume of mouthwash.

In such cases, contact a physician or a poison control center.

The product should be stored in a dry, cool place at temperatures between 15°C and 25°C, protected from moisture and direct exposure to light. It is essential that the packaging is hermetically sealed and stored in a place inaccessible to children.
