Description Lacium
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Lacium is a dietary supplement from the probiotic group, used to restore intestinal flora.
Forms of release
Lacium is available in several forms:
- Lacium 50 billion CFU, 10 capsules and 30 capsules
- Lacium JUNIOR 25 billion CFU. 10 capsules
Lacium is a probiotic and contains 50 billion CFU (Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium breve, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactococcus lactis, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Streptococcus thermophilus) and 140 mg of inulin. Lacium probiotic tablets are extended-release, contain 9 strains of live cultures and have a synergistic effect due to the presence of inulin. Inulin is a prebiotic and is used to feed good bacteria (probiotics).
Indications for use
There are several indications for Lacium. Lacium is a probiotic and is administered in gastrointestinal disorders associated with intestinal dysbiosis, to restore the intestinal microflora during and after antibiotic treatment and as an adjuvant to the immune system. Probiotics can also be beneficial in digestive disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease, infectious diarrhoea, traveller's diarrhoea (change in bowel habits during travel) and irritable bowel syndrome.
Dosage and administration
Lacium administration: Lacium can be administered as 1 tablet per day. During antibiotic treatment, it is recommended to administer it 2-3 hours after taking the antibiotic. Lacium capsules can be continued for at least 10 days after the end of antibiotic treatment.
Contraindications
There are also some contraindications for Lacium. Lacium is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to any of the ingredients in the product. In this case, you can ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice on alternatives to Lacium treatment. Do not administer to children or immunocompromised individuals. Read the Lacium package insert for a complete list of possible contraindications.
Interactions with other medications and foods
Lacium probiotics do not interact with other medications. Alcohol consumption may worsen digestive symptoms. Probiotics are usually administered in combination with antibiotic treatment, and alcohol may interfere with the effectiveness of antibiotics or affect liver function because both (alcohol and antibiotics) are metabolised at this level. In any case, it is advisable to inform your doctor about any supplements or treatments you are taking.
Side effects
To date, no adverse effects have been reported with the administration of Lacium. If any unpleasant symptoms occur, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
Overdose
Follow the recommended doses and do not use more than indicated.
Storage
Store in a dry and cool place. Keep Lacium tablets in the aluminium packaging to maintain their effectiveness.
