L-carnitine is a component of both seminal plasma and sperm cells and plays an important role in sperm maturation and motility. Fructose is one of the most important energy-producing substrates present in seminal fluid. Fructose is used by sperm as a source of energy.

Acetyl-L-carnitine is the acetylated form, the predominant form of carnitine in semen, and is important in stabilising its membrane. Acetyl-L-carnitine serves as a circulating energy source and provides the primary fuel for sperm motility.

Vitamin C has an antioxidant role and is present in seminal plasma. Citric acid acts as a key intermediate between the major energy production pathways used by spermatozoa and other tissues in the body.

Coenzyme Q10 has an antioxidant role and acts as a metabolic substrate. It is concentrated in the mitochondria, in the middle part of the spermatozoa. Mitochondria are the structures responsible for energy production in cells, inside the seminal fluid.

Zinc contributes to fertility and reproduction and is important for the production of seminal material.

Folic acid contributes to the quality of seminal fluid.

Selenium is a stabiliser of sperm flagellum integrity and a powerful antioxidant. The flagellum helps sperm move towards the egg for fertilisation.

Vitamin B12 is involved in DNA synthesis and cell maturation.

When we talk about sperm quality, we refer to motility (the ability of sperm to move spontaneously and actively), sperm count and morphology (shape and size), as well as the volume of semen produced.

Treatment with Proxeed consists of taking 2 sachets per day dissolved in 200 ml of water or orange juice before meals, in the morning and in the evening.

Sperm needs approximately 74 days to mature and up to 20 additional days to be capable of fertilisation. It is therefore recommended that ProXeed be taken for 6 months, although initial improvements in sperm quality begin to appear after 3 months.

For women, there is Proxeed Women, a sugar-free dietary supplement containing a special formula to support the health of women of childbearing age, helping to maintain normal hormonal activity.

It contains L-carnitine, acetyl-L-carnitine, L-arginine, N-acetyl cysteine, vitamins and minerals that contribute to normal fertility and reproduction.

It also contains folic acid, zinc, vitamins B12 and D, which contribute to the cell division process.
