Peat has many extraordinary properties. One of the most important is its ability to store heat or cold for extended periods and release it very slowly. Unlike other materials such as water, thermogel, or fango, natural peat can store heat significantly longer and release it more slowly.

For complaints resulting from wear and tear, the heat alleviates pain, promotes blood circulation, and thus improves the supply of nutrients to cells and joints. The prolonged heat release loosens and relaxes hardened muscles.

Before processing, the freshly harvested Bad Aibling peat is cleared of stones and small branches. The cleaned peat is enriched with water and stirred into a light, airy slurry. This slurry is then filled by hand into the flexible foil and sealed. The increased air content enhances the foil's ability to store and release heat or cold.
