The medical device Durolane 60 mg/3 ml contains stabilized hyaluronic acid dissolved in a physiological saline solution. The delivery of hyaluronic acid in the form of intra-articular injections restores the viscosity and elasticity of the synovial fluid. This increases joint mobility and can reduce pain.

Durolane is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee and hip joints. In a lower dose, it can be used for the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis* of medium-sized (1-2 ml) or small (1 ml) joints.

Durolane comes in the form of a pre-filled syringe filled with viscoelastic gel. It is intended for a single intra-articular injection, which must be performed by a doctor authorized for this type of treatment.

The hyaluronic acid present in the preparation was obtained in the biosynthesis process, purified and stabilized. The gel delivered to the joint is broken down in the body through the same metabolic pathway as endogenous hyaluronic acid.
