KERMA handmade gauze swabs, balloon-shaped

KERMA gauze swabs are handmade, balloon-shaped, looped gauze swabs made from 20-ply cotton (cotton according to DIN EN 14079 - VM20, Ph.Eur.). They are characterized by high absorbency and are suitable for various medical applications. The swabs are manufactured without a radiopaque thread and without a rubber band.

Areas of application

Depending on their size, gauze swabs are used for gentle wound cleansing. They are also suitable for absorbing blood and secretions. Furthermore, they can be used to prepare the skin, for example, as part of skin disinfection.

Product features

The gauze swabs are made of cotton gauze and are balloon-shaped, allowing them to absorb a large amount of liquid. They are available in both sterile (steam-sterilized at 134°C) and non-sterile versions, enabling selection based on the intended application.

Instructions for use

Select the appropriate swab size depending on the intended use and wound size. For applications requiring a sterile working field, only sterile, individually wrapped gauze swabs should be used. The swab is used according to its intended purpose: wound cleansing, absorbing blood or exudate, or skin disinfection.
