OKKLUglas eye dressing – safe protection for the treated eye

OKKLUglas is a ready-to-use eye dressing (watch glass dressing) with a surrounding adhesive strip and a transparent, shatterproof protective cap. It is used to cover and protect the eye after surgical procedures, injuries, or when eyelid closure is impaired. Depending on the version, OKKLUglas offers a mechanical barrier with a moisture chamber or particularly good air circulation through ventilation openings. Special UV versions also provide UV protection for the eye. The product is suitable for adults, children, and babies (children require assistance from an adult).

Application areas and variants

OKKLUglas is used particularly after ptosis surgery, in cases of lagophthalmos, facial palsy, injuries to the external eye, and for protection after eye surgery. The standard and silicone versions form a moisture chamber and provide mechanical protection for the eye. Aero versions allow for optimal air circulation through ventilation openings. The UV versions (AERO UV / AERO EXTRAUV) combine mechanical protection with UV protection class 2-1.2 according to DIN EN 170. Adapted sizes are available for babies and children as baby and kids versions.

Application and handling

Before applying the dressing, the skin around the eye should be clean, free of oils, and dry to ensure optimal adhesion. Bushy eyebrows can impair the dressing's adhesion; if necessary, carefully shave or pluck your eyebrows. Then, gently remove the protective film. Position the eye patch centrally over the eye so that the shatterproof protective cap is centered over the eye and the eye itself is not covered by the dressing. With the EXTRA version, the large adhesive area faces upwards towards the eyebrow. Press the dressing firmly onto the skin with gentle pressure. Important warnings

Wearing a watch glass dressing can severely impair vision, particularly affecting the ability to drive. The dressing must not be applied to broken skin or mucous membranes. Due to the risk of increased bacterial contamination and loss of complete adhesion, OKKLUglas is intended for single use only. Do not use the product if you have a known allergy or intolerance to adhesive bandages. Serious incidents related to the product should be reported to the manufacturer and/or the relevant authorities.
