Ornithine 400 mg GPH Capsules

Ornithine 400 mg GPH capsules contain the free amino acid L-ornithine in the form of L-ornithine monohydrochloride. L-ornithine is a non-essential amino acid produced from L-arginine in the liver. It plays an important role in the urea cycle, where it is involved in the formation of urea, the end product of protein and amino acid metabolism. L-ornithine occurs naturally in many plants and is not itself a protein building block. The capsules are gluten-free and lactose-free.

Features and characteristics

Each hard gelatin capsule provides 400 mg of L-ornithine monohydrochloride. L-ornithine is involved in the cyclical urea synthesis in the liver, which produces approximately 20–25 g of urea daily. The L-ornithine HCl used is not of animal origin and is obtained through fermentation of plant-based raw materials. The capsule shell gelatin is BSE/TSE-tested pharmaceutical-grade gelatin.

Application and consumption recommendation

For adults, the recommended intake is 2–3 capsules daily with liquid. They are usually taken in the late afternoon. Two capsules contain 800 mg of L-ornithine, three capsules contain 1200 mg of L-ornithine. The capsules can be taken in addition to or alternately with L-arginine.

Important instructions

Ornithine 400 mg GPH capsules should not be taken for more than 3 months. Dyes in the capsule shell, such as Ponceau 4 R and quinoline yellow, may impair activity and attention in children.
