Softamil is a medical device in the form of an oral solution based on Macrogol 4000 with a pleasant peach flavor . One 250 ml bottle contains 125 g of macrogol 4000. The product is sugar-, lactose-, and gluten-free.

When is Softamil used?

Softamil is indicated for the treatment of:

• chronic,
• fecal stones (persistent constipation with stool retention in the rectum and/or colon, confirmed by medical examination),
• constipation with episodic or chronic colic.

The preparation can be used in adults, children and infants from 6 months of age weighing more than 7 kg (as recommended by a doctor).

How does Softamil work?

Softamil has a laxative effect, regulating intestinal function through an osmotic mechanism . It is neither absorbed nor fermented in the intestines, does not irritate mucous membranes , and is excreted unchanged in the feces. Its affinity for water softens fecal masses, facilitating bowel movements. Its effectiveness does not diminish over time.

The package contains one 250 ml bottle with a graduated measuring cup to facilitate measuring the correct amount of solution.
