Around the year 2853 IC, the legendary emperor of China, Shennong, proclaimed 5 plants as sacred: rice, wheat, barley, millet and soybean.
Dubbed by Asians "meat without bones", soy entered Europe only at the beginning of the 1700s, and the United States in 1765. But its true virtues were discovered, outside of Asia, only at the beginning of the 1900s.
How does it work?
- Soy protein, properly processed, is the only vegetable food that provides the body with all the essential amino acids.
- It is a rich source of antioxidants.
- Why do we recommend it?
- It protects the blood vessels, prevents the rupture of arteries and reduces the incidence of heart diseases and strengthens the immune system.
- Due to the fibers it contains (which lowers the blood sugar level), soy can also be consumed by diabetics.
How to consume
- The soybeans are soaked overnight and then boiled until the beans are soft.
- Meatballs or pâtés can be prepared from the boiled grains.
- Soy milk can also be made from soybeans, by homogenizing in a food processor.
- It is also called vegetable steak, being a valid substitute for meat.
