Description
Stratamed is a self-stabilizing, non-sticky, transparent silicone gel for the prevention and treatment of deforming scars, such as hypertrophic scars and keloids. It can be applied to any fresh surgical incision or excision, open wound and skin areas that have suffered a break in continuity.
It is also suitable for:
- chemical peels
- abrasion
- superficial burns from radiotherapy
Stratamed is suitable for exposed areas such as the face and neck, as well as areas such as joints and hairy areas, without the need for hair removal. It can be used with or without a protective dressing.
When used properly, it dries quickly and forms a thin silicone film, a semi-permeable protective membrane. It regulates wound moisture and gas exchange, providing protection to damaged skin or open wounds against chemical and microbial infiltration.
