Maca , a plant with small tubers, is one of the few plants that grow at altitudes above 3,500 meters, so it can withstand extreme conditions. In the language of the Incas, "MA" means "altitude" and "CA " translates to "food that strengthens" . Today maca is also known as "Peruvian Ginseng".
