Oregano, a strongly aromatic perennial plant, used especially as a spice, is also appreciated for its therapeutic effects. In ancient times, the plant was used as a universal panacea in case of fever, toothache and skin problems.
Today, oregano essential oil, rich in carvacrol and thymol, is used as an adjuvant in case of viruses, bacterial, viral or fungal infections, but also as a stimulator of the immune system.

By steam distillation from the leaves and flowering tops of the plant.

How to use:
- it is a product that is not used as such on the skin, only as an ingredient in cosmetic preparations and compositions for aromatherapy;
- usual dosage recommended in cosmetic compositions 0.5 - 2%;
- as an ingredient for skin care preparations: oregano oil incorporated in a vegetable oil is applied to the affected area 1-2 times a day. In case of adverse reactions or stinging, the use will be stopped or the concentration will be reduced; useful in case of insect bites, herpes, skin infections, mycoses;
- as an ingredient for the preparation of hair hygiene compositions, in case of scalp affected by dandruff, in the form of shampoos, masks, rubs or hair creams; 1-2 drops of essential oil can be added to the shampoo portion;
- as an ingredient in a mask for mycosis-affected scalp with 5% oregano oil and 95% coconut/jojoba/castor oil; apply weekly, until the symptoms improve; the mask applied to the scalp and hair is wrapped with a foil and left to act for 20-30 minutes, after which the hair is washed as usual;
- 1-2 drops in the portion of liquid soap or shower gel used for a wash, for an antiseptic effect; it is especially recommended during epidemic periods;
- as an ingredient for the preparation of intimate hygiene solutions, 10-15 drops of oregano oil (solubilized in advance) in warm water or mouse tail infusion for a sitz bath - helps eliminate problems related to a wide spectrum of fungi, including Run; or 1-2 drops in a portion of bath gel or liquid soap for intimate hygiene;
- as an ingredient in antifungal ointments or balms for fingernails or toenails, or included in a vegetable oil (castor oil, tamanu or olives for example), in a concentration of 2-5%.
