Bio-Magnesium

Magnesium Pharma Nord is available as easy-to-swallow film-coated tablets, packaged in boxes of 30, 60 or 120 tablets. 

The tablets are formulated in a soluble matrix, which allows them to dissolve completely within a few minutes after ingestion, transforming the magnesium salts into an active form that is easily absorbed in the intestine.

Magnesium Bio is recommended for:

• maintaining healthy bones and teeth, thanks to magnesium's role in fixing calcium and phosphorus;
• normal functioning of the nervous and muscular systems, preventing cramps, spasms and muscle fatigue;
• maintaining electrolyte balance and ionic homeostasis;
• reducing fatigue and physical and mental exhaustion;
• normal protein synthesis and cell division processes;
• supporting mental health by regulating neurotransmitters involved in relaxation and sleep.

Supplementation is particularly useful for people with chronic stress, those who consume large amounts of coffee or alcohol, competitive athletes who lose magnesium through sweating, and those with an unbalanced diet.

The recommended dose is one tablet per day, taken after a meal or as directed by a doctor or nutritionist. The product can also be taken on an empty stomach due to its excellent gastric tolerance, but taking it after a meal optimises absorption.

It is important not to exceed the recommended daily dose, as additional magnesium does not provide significant additional benefits, and any excess is excreted in the urine.

Magnesium Bio Pharma Nord is generally safe, but its administration is contraindicated in the following situations:

• severe renal failure or impaired renal function, as magnesium excretion is reduced;
• hypermagnesaemia (elevated blood magnesium levels);
• hypersensitivity to any of the excipients (microcrystalline cellulose, tricalcium phosphate, magnesium salts of fatty acids, silicon dioxide, etc.).

Pregnant or breastfeeding women may use the product only on the recommendation of a doctor, as magnesium requirements may vary during these periods.

Bio-Magnesium is distinguished by its high bioavailability and excellent digestive tolerance, making it suitable even for people with low gastric acidity. Thanks to the combination of organic and inorganic salts, the tablet ensures gradual release and complete absorption.

The prefix "Bio" refers to biologically effective absorption, not organic farming.

Side effects are rare and usually mild. Occasionally, the following may occur:

• loose stools or mild diarrhoea, especially at doses higher than those recommended;
• dizziness, nausea, vomiting or temporary abdominal discomfort.

Magnesium may interact with certain medicines, reducing their absorption or effectiveness:

• tetracycline and fluoroquinolone antibiotics – it is recommended to take them at least 2 hours apart;
• bisphosphonates (used in osteoporosis) – magnesium may decrease their absorption;
• diuretics, calcium channel blockers and laxatives – may alter electrolyte balance and serum magnesium levels.

Overdose is rare in people with normal kidney function, as the kidneys efficiently excrete excess magnesium. However, massive ingestion (ten times the normal dose) can cause:

• severe diarrhoea,
• dizziness,
• nausea,
• drop in blood pressure,
• lethargy.

In extreme cases, patients with renal failure may develop hypermagnesaemia, manifested by cardiac arrhythmia or respiratory depression, requiring emergency medical attention.

The product should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and direct light. The packaging should be tightly closed after each use.

Keep out of the reach of children and consume preferably before the date printed on the box.
