Reliable and safe for bladder weakness
Bladder weakness is more common than you might think. In Germany alone, around 7 to 8 million people suffer from a sensitive bladder. Women are particularly affected, and often withdraw from an active life for fear of embarrassing situations. TENA® products enable a self-determined life without limitations – despite bladder weakness.
The soft, laterally elasticated pad adapts to the body's shape and is suitable for women with light to moderate bladder weakness. With reliable triple protection against leaks, moisture, and odors, the pad ensures a secure and dry feeling in every situation.
Discreet protection
No need to worry about sudden leaks! Highly absorbent materials, thanks to microPROTEX™ technology, ensure maximum absorbency and reliable leak protection. The asymmetrical absorbent core and elastic side cuffs provide a close, 3D fit that adapts to every movement, offering unrestricted freedom of movement – without the worry of leaks. With micro-freshness pearls, the Fresh Odor Control reduces odor formation and leaves you feeling fresh.
TENA® discreet Normal pads are made of soft, breathable materials that allow air to circulate. This helps prevent moisture and promotes healthy skin. TENA® discreet Normal pads are individually wrapped and fit easily into any handbag or trouser pocket. Especially convenient for when you're on the go.
During menopause
Two-thirds of all women experience hormonally related bladder weakness during menopause. The estrogen deficiency in the blood not only makes the mucous membranes in the genital area more sensitive, but also causes the progressive weakening of the pelvic floor muscles and connective tissue, which can lead to the bladder sagging.
Active & carefree
Bladder weakness shouldn't stop anyone from living an active life. Discreet pads with effective leakage protection and reliable odor control give women with bladder weakness a dry and secure feeling at all times – at work, during all sporting activities, and at social events.
Up to 12 hours of dryness
TENA® discreet offers up to 12 hours of lasting dryness. The design of the pads ensures immediate liquid absorption and provides superior security with high absorbency. Thanks to the super-absorbent particles in the pads, liquids are effectively captured and locked away. This effective moisture retention provides a secure and fresh feeling for up to 12 hours.
Expert tips for bladder weakness: Bladder weakness during menopause can be specifically prevented. A healthy lifestyle with a varied, balanced diet, regular exercise, and sufficient fluid intake keeps the entire body fit and also has a positive effect on the bladder. At the same time, this effectively counteracts risk factors for incontinence, such as significant overweight.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Is it true that you can train your bladder?
Yes, targeted bladder training is possible and, in combination with a healthy lifestyle and other measures, can help prevent bladder weakness. Don't postpone going to the toilet for too long, as this could overstretch the bladder muscles in the long run. Conversely, going to the toilet too frequently "preventively" can lead to a strong urge to urinate even with a small amount of urine in the bladder. Listen to your body and only go to the toilet when it is truly necessary.
Will pelvic floor exercises also help if I already suffer from bladder weakness?
Yes, regular pelvic floor muscle training can not only prevent bladder weakness but also help those affected to specifically alleviate existing symptoms at any stage of bladder weakness. In addition to typical pelvic floor exercises, sports like yoga and Pilates also strengthen the pelvic floor. Focusing on conscious breathing during these exercises is ideal for activating the deeper muscles in the body. Simply try out the different options to find the training method you enjoy most and that fits well into your daily routine. To ensure you feel completely secure during every movement, TENA® pads are available in various sizes and absorbencies, offering discretion and effective leakage protection even during sports activities.
Do I have to avoid coffee if I have a weak bladder?
Coffee, like other caffeinated beverages, has a strong diuretic effect. The same applies to alcohol. A number of fruits and vegetables, such as asparagus, carrots, tomatoes, and oranges, also have this effect. Observe which foods and drinks personally increase your urge to urinate and adjust your diet accordingly. If you find it particularly difficult to completely abstain from coffee, it is helpful to gradually reduce your consumption and, if necessary, replace it with other stimulants. Many people with bladder weakness and increased urinary frequency tend to drink less than usual. However, this has the detrimental effect of impairing the proper functioning of the bladder. It is recommended to drink a glass of water every hour, if possible, to ensure adequate hydration.
