Cosmopor Advance is a self-adhesive, sterile wound dressing for the reliable protection of postoperative and primary healing wounds. It was specially developed for heavily exuding wounds and its structure promotes reliable absorption of exudate. The dressing is also suitable for protecting the skin after treatments such as disinfection or wound cleansing and helps to hygienically cover the wound.

Application and area of ​​use

Cosmopor Advance is applied directly to a clean, dry wound to securely cover it and protect it from external influences. Its self-adhesive properties allow for easy fixation without the need for additional adhesives. It is intended for use on postoperative wounds, primarily healing wounds, and heavily exuding wounds. The dressing can also be used after procedures such as disinfection or wound cleansing to cover the treated area.

Product structure and properties

The dressing's backing material consists of a perforated, 100% polyester non-woven fabric that feels comfortable against the skin. The wound pad has a three-layer structure: A permeable polyethylene wound contact layer lies directly on the wound, a viscose layer distributes the fluid before it is absorbed by a layer of superabsorbent fibers (SAF). The sealing paper is printed, coated, heat-sealed, and latex-free, and is used in combination with a transparent polyethylene/polyester film.

Instructions for use

Before applying the Cosmopor Advance wound dressing, the wound should be cleaned and, if necessary, disinfected according to the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist. Then, remove the dressing from its sterile packaging and place it over the wound with the wound pad centered. Ensure that the backing material adheres well to the surrounding skin so that the dressing stays securely in place. Change the dressing according to the recommendations of your doctor or pharmacist, or when it becomes visibly damp.
