Pollen, also called bee bread , is collected by bees and used to feed young insects. It goes to the hive in the form of tiny balls, where it is only partially processed by insects. A ball of bee bread can contain over 100,000 grains of pollen from various flowers, including St. John's wort, dandelion and wild rose.
