Description
Branched-chain amino acids, also known as BCAAs, are three in number: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. These are essential amino acids that our bodies cannot synthesize on their own, making it necessary to obtain them through our diet. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, which then become part of muscles, cartilage, and are even fundamental to the immune system. In certain situations, such as intense exercise, our bodies break down the amino acids that make up our muscle proteins. For this reason, and in this situation, consuming branched-chain amino acids is beneficial. Following the recommendations of the latest published studies, we include a BCAA ratio of 8:1:1 (L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine, respectively), with a higher amount of L-leucine than the traditionally used ratio of 2:1:1. The formula is fortified with L-glutamine.
